Collagen induction therapy for a radiant, glowing complexion without the downtime
-
DermaFrac takes microneedling (skin needling) to a whole new level. The device is safe and effective for most skin types. It has been shown to improve the appearance of conditions such as:
- Melasma, pigmentation and sunspots.
- Skin dehydration.
- Superficial fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone.
- Scars and stretch marks. Although we recommend checking out our Tixel resurfacing treatment for scars, stretch marks and deeper wrinkles.
Amongst one of the most minimally invasive treatments found on the market, DermaFrac combines collagen induction therapy with serum infusion and is a quick, low pain, low downtime, and effective treatment. You can return to your normal activities immediately following the treatment.
DermaFrac uses a disposable roller with 180 superfine needles. It uses vacuum to pull the skin into contact with the micro needles which penetrate the epidermis and infuse a tailored serum into the skin, stimulating cell renewal and collagen production to give a plump, firm complexion. -
Treatments are typically spaced 2 to 4 weekly and a course of 6 treatments is recommended for optimal results with maintenance treatments every 8 to 10 weeks.
COST
Treatments range from $250 to $300 per treatment dependent on the needle depth and serum used.
If you purchase and pay for 3 treatments you will receive your 4th treatment FREE.
If you prefer to pay as you go you will receive your 6th treatment FREE provided the treatments are completed within one year of commencement.

FAQ's
How does it work?
The precision-controlled handpiece uses vacuum to pull the skin into contact with hundreds of micro needles. The micro-needles create pathways for the infusion of targeted serums by penetrating the epidermis above capillaries and nerve endings, ensuring less pain. No numbing cream is required. Designed to improv the overall appearance of your skin, the treatment results in optimal absorption of the serum an induces collagen. Patients report a reductio in pore size, and fine lines with increased skin luminosity and clarity.
What is the downtime?
Strict sun avoidance is a must in the days following treatment to protect the new skin from damage and possible adverse reactions. You will need to limit times outdoors and use a good broad-spectrum sunscreen between treatments. We recommend the PCA sheer tint. On the day of treatment, we recommend using a moisturiser or Hyaluronic Acid serum. You may resume your normal skincare from the following day, but avoid any active skincare such as Vitamin A, AHA’s and BHA’s for one week.
A warmth may be felt to the skin for up to 24 hours accompanied by some redness that will gradually fade over 12 to 24 hours. Dry skin and flaking are possible in the four to five days post treatment with the skin usually fully healed with a fresh glow by seven days. Avoid wearing makeup, swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and heavy exercise for the remainder of the day. You ca resume all other regular activities directly after treatment.
If you are looking for more collagen induction and further improvement to lines, wrinkles acne and scarring then we recommend upgrading to our Tixel resurfacing treatment.
What are the serums used with DermaFrac?
There are 4 serums available for individualised treatment options to target your specific skin condition. You can also alternate between serums and needle depths at different treatments.
Rejuvenate – a super cocktail of peptides to help defend against the signs of aging.
Hydrate - Hyaluronic acid triggers intense hydration and some plumping effects.
Clarify - Salicylic and Lactic acid helps cleanse congested oily pores for more vibrant, clearer skin.
Lighten - Kojic acid is a natural and effective lightening agent shown to even out pigment.
Who is a suitable candidate for DermaFrac treatment?
DermaFrac treats all skin types. Some very sensitive skin types ma not be able to tolerate the components of DermaFrac treatment particularly if the skin barrier is impaired. We will test this prior to the treatment and if you are not a suitable candidate, we will provide you with recommendations for medical grade skin care to improve the barrier before commencing treatments.
Who is not a suitable candidate for DermaFrac treatment?
DermaFrac treatment is not recommended for those who have:
- Severe, active acne.
- Impaired skin barrier.
- Broken, inflamed skin.
- Taken Roaccutane or other acne medications, in the past six months or currently still taking. (This is a medication often used to treat acne).
- Dermatitis or fungal infections
- HIV/Hepatitis.
- High doses of blood thinning medication.
- Active cold sores.
- Skin cancer or suspected skin cancer.
- Those who have keloid scarring.
- Those prone to PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmention).
If you are unsure what treatment is right for you, or if you are suitable for this treatment, please book a cosmetic consultation.
Is it painful?
Patient’s report a low pain level with DermaFrac treatment. The precise engineering of the handpiece leads to less bleeding and pain compared to other devices. The depth of the needles has been carefully designed so that the channels are created just below the dermal, epidermal junction, and just above the capillaries and nerve endings. The vacuum assisted occlusion places the skin under tension leading to reduced pain.
When can I expect to see results?
DermaFrac treatment can provide instant and long-term benefits.
You may notice results in skin clarity, tone, texture, brightness, and hydration in as little as one week. Over time the treatment continues to stimulate collagen and your results will continually improve.
How long do the results last?
DermaFrac treatment can provide instant and long term benefits.
For best results, it is recommended to do 6 treatments, every 2 to 4 weeks based on the condition and concern of the skin followed by maintenance treatments every 8 to 10 weeks. DermaFrac is also a great treatment to do 1 to 2 weeks prior to any major event to freshen up and rejuvenate the skin.
What are the risks of DermaFrac treatment?
There are minimal risks involved with DermaFrac treatment. It is common to experience some redness and slight stinging sensation after the treatment, but this usually settles quickly. Other side effects of DermaFrac such as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) are rare and will be discussed with you prior to treatment. No numbing cream is required for this treatment further reducing any adverse effects.
How to prepare for the treatment?
Please come to your treatment wit a clean face free of any makeup.
We recommend using medical based skincare before and during the treatment period to enhance the results and speed up the healing process post treatment.
Recommended products could include a cleanser, moisturiser, and vitamin B or a pigment serum, and a vitamin A or retinol serum (vitamin A cannot be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding).
It is imperative that you use sunscreen daily before, during an after treatments to further reduce any associated risks. We recommend the PCA sheer zinc sunscreen which is one of our most popular products.
If you are unsure of what products to buy you can book online for a cosmetic consultation or product purchase.
Is it safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Yes, unlike most of our treatments, DermaFrac is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, however this is serum dependant and using our smaller needle size.
Why choose DermaFrac?
DermaFrac is unique in that it combines collagen induction therapy with needling, serum infusion and suction to aid in lymphatic drainage. It has minimal risks and doesn’t require the use of topical numbing cream, has little downtime, can be used on most skin types. It is also one of the few treatments that can be used in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Who should perform the treatment?
DermaFrac treatment should only be operated by a fully trained doctor, nurse or other medical professional, or aesthetician.
What other treatments compliment DermaFrac?
DermaFrac can be a stand-alone treatment or combined with other treatments to further enhance your treatments and meet your aesthetic goals. A personalised treatment plan can be created at your cosmetic consultation. Treatments typically combined with DermaFrac include:
Medical grade skincare - prescribed for your individual skin care needs to improve skin health and quality improving the overall result of your treatments and aiding recovery time.
Botox and Xeomin (anti-wrinkle injectables) - to reduce muscle contraction and smooth out the overlying skin, softening lines and wrinkles, and preventing the formation of deeper lines.
Profhilo (bioremodelling) - used to provide deep hydration and improve mild to moderate skin laxity. Profhilo also works well as a preventative treatment as it stimulates fibroblast cells to increase collagen and elastin formation and has been shown to preserve fat stem cells under the skin lost with aging. This is not a volumising product like dermal fillers.
IPL photorejuvenation - to reduce redness, rosacea, pigmentation and improve skin tone.
Dermal Filler - to volumise areas that have lost volume over time and fill deeper lines where reduced muscle contraction is not recommended. Dermal filler is also used for definition, volumisation and hydration to the lips.
Tixel Resurfacing – Tixel is an energy-based skin resurfacing treatment used to reduce lines and wrinkles, improve pigmentation, skin texuture, scarring and stretchmarks including scarring from acne and in the treatment of active acne. Unlike other treatments it can be used safely around the delicate eye area, an otherwise difficult area to treat. Tixel bridges the gap between microneedling and fractional ablative laser, but with less downtime than laser.
